For the past six months I’ve been in a learning curve, centered on promotion, book sales and entrepreneurialship. It’s been intense and I’m not complaining. But running a business from home, balancing family obligations, not to mention all of my other volunteer work and writing takes delicate balance that at times, has stressed a sista all the way out! During those weeks, when there truly have been more obligations than hours, only deep breathing, prayer and the Holy Spirit’s guidance have gotten me through.
I’ve been running hard! No doubt about it! Visiting Arizona, Indiana, Michigan, Nevada and Ohio during the past two months. But the pace I’m on is one I set. With all the traveling, my dilemma is creating a schedule that still allows for creativity and productivity. Now I haven’t quite figured everything out just yet, but I’m workin’ on it! It’s a process, like everything else in life. And like most Midwesterners, I’ll be glad when winter ends because the “polar vortex” wreaked havoc on my meticulously planned travel schedule.
God has been so unbelievably good to me. And I’m blessed to wake up daily and be His servant. Today, I’m taking a much-needed day of rest. And creative juices are flowing. For the record, I’m not sitting around watching television but organizing files, washing clothes, writing and responding to emails. It might not be what you consider a day of rest. But as I’ve said before, I’m a work in progress!
Good-bye for now,
M. Lyn Walker
